The Way

“In the peace and quietness, tranquil in the solitude, a whisper of a still small voice beckons me to come…” (A Prayer of Hope).

The physical application of way is viewed as the manner in which something is done or a method for doing something. But the spiritual aspect of way is how God is leading His human creation that believes in Him. Therefore, several scriptural indications provide the direction in which God guides those who believe: the way of the Lord, the way of God, the way of peace, the way of truth, and of course, the way of Salvation is through faith in Jesus Christ, “…the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). In addition, Jesus Christ is the greatest example of God’s Way for living a spiritual life on Earth.

However, the significance of Jesus Christ’s extraordinary sinless life on Earth seems to be observed in far less detail. But in His life, Jesus exhibited all the spiritual characteristics of the Father and did no wrong as He fulfilled God’s Plan and Purpose for Salvation. Although Jesus Christ’s is the greatest expression of God’s Way, most believers focus on Jesus’ horrific death on the Cross while knowing that His death is the One and Only Sacrifice established and required to atone for mankind’s sinful nature (Roman 5:8-11).

Therefore, inspirations from God’s Word and guidance from His Holy Spirit are available to lead believers to understand God’s Salvation Plan by faith in way established through Jesus Christ.

“I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which you shall go: I will guide you with mine eye” (Psalm 32:8).

As Joshua spoke to the Israelites concerning a decision to live righteously or wickedly, he said, “Choose you this day” (Joshua 24:15). But, if any considers exhorting both righteous and wicked actions as if they should operate together (do some good and then do some evil), the Bible speaks against interchanging those ways and encourages, “Hate the evil, and love the good… (Amos 5:15). Jesus did no wrong; He did no evil.

“Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6).

No one will go to the Father without knowing and following His Righteous Way.
