Ruminate

Thinking deeply or engaging in careful consideration about something is ruminating.

But repetitive negative thoughts lead to depression.

“Thou will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusts in thee” (Isaiah 26:3). There are several ways to keep the mind stayed on the Lord, who provides perfect peace:

Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read…” (Isaiah 34:16). The Word delivers the mind from thinking repeated negative thoughts from past situations and disturbing information.

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom…” (Colossians 3:16). When allowing the Word to dwell within, it is similar to accepting information learned in school or college as beneficial means for gaining knowledge and skills to live a rich and productive life. But as the Word dwells richly within, it enhances inner spiritual aspects to bring forth deeper understanding and positive thinking that displays sincere outward Godly characteristics.

“Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). As the Bible indicates, it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles the body or the person, but what comes out of it (Matthew 15:11).
